World Language 200 (Spring Semester)
Course Description:1 semester hour
Students will continue learn to understand what language proficiency is and how it is acquired, using diverse resources to develop their proficiencies and set progress goals and a training plan in collaboration with a language coach. Individualized "checkup" sessions are required with a focus on specific target language (TL), including Spanish, French, German and others. Emphasis in WLAN 200 will be on actively developing proficiency in all four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Learning Outcomes: By the end of this course, students will demonstrate a more in-depth awareness of what language proficiency is and how it is acquired and assessed. The main focus will be on developing proficiency by engaging with a variety of resources, setting goals, managing exposure to the target language and applying acquired language to personal expression.
